WorkPackage 1

WP1: Know-how Exchange

This first workpackage is aimed to develop a web-based know-how exchange platform and to present project outputs in public on conferences (both participating and organising) and in a journal.

Task 1.1 - Installation of a long-term living internet network on Zer0-M concepts

Dissemination of knowledge about Sustainable Water Management (SWM) concepts is one of the most important objectives of Zer0-M. The communication strategy is therefore focused at keeping all project partners fully informed on internal project concerns like project progress, workprogram, administrative issues in order to obtain maximum transparency for all the involved partners and to increase the synergy of co-operation. On the other hand Zer0-M wishes to involve other experts in a worldwide discussion and to give web-users the opportunity to find useful informations about Zer0-M activities and success.

The intended tool for this purpose is a website composed of a public part and a restricted area for the members of the consortium only. This shall allow a fast and convenient exchange of informations and provide a platform for discussions.

Effective communication with parties outside the consortium, such as other project consortia, other experts and groups working in the same field will be a special concern.
Especially dynamic and interactive elements (interactive Public Forum) will be implemented in order to enhance exchange among interested parties.

Project program, progress and results as well as reports shall be available on this website.

Task 1.2 - Publication of a semestrial journal

A journal about water saving and sustainable water and wastewater technologies shall give the partners and other experts the opportunity to exchange knowledge, to learn about existing best practice examples and new ideas in this field. The first issue will be focused on Zer0-M solutions and shall appear in September 2004. The official language will be English, but translations in Arabic, French and Turkish maybe be available in the MEDA countries according to necessity.

Task 1.3 - Project Presentation at conferences

All the project partners are encouraged to present Zer0-M in national and international conferences and seminars in order to disseminate SWM objectives as much as possible.

Task 1.4 (and 1.5) - Zer0-M Conferences

Two smaller conferences will be organised in the second and third project year with the aim to present the overall project approach and to reach the expert community in the MPCs inviting them to a discussion about SWM. The 2 workshop-conferences will address primarily local experts and decision makers; experts from the other MEDA projects will be especially invited to present papers.
Conference 1: Turkey, March 2005,
Conference 2: its location will be decided later amongst the following possibilities: Greece, Italy, Morocco or Egypt

Task 1.6 - Zer0-m Final Conference

One final conference in March 2007 in Tunis, will give the opportunity to present and discuss Zer0-M results and to initiate further activities beyond the project period. This conference will be organised by Zer0-M partner INRST, who has already extensive experience in the organisation of such conferences in the MEDA area.
